Dear Friends and Family,
I never imagined a day like this would come.
A day where I find myself with the opportunity to address the general public on how I feel in regards to my company and its employees, and especially our patrons.
I was 22 years old when I started this company. I am 32 years old, as of this writing. In ten short years, as a person, I’ve grown tremendously. The growth that I’ve experienced could be due to natural maturation or a personal inclination to be a better man but, I know deep inside of me, it was all but me. Thank you.
Believe it or not, I keep with me today a tremendous amount of memories. I’ve had many interactions with customers, who are dear friends to me even to this day. I’m reminded of our numerous suppliers and vendors who worked very hard, establishing human relationships I never knew were possible in business. Thank you for that.
To the diligent public service officials, my landlords, the health department, and my lawyers: It’s been quite the ride. I consider myself to be very blessed to have come across each one of you. Thank you for always keeping it classy, professional, humorous, and enjoyable. I had a lot of fun. Thank you.
Every person I’ve employed has taught me many things. And as I learned, it equipped me with the wisdom and guidance on how to move, steering the company in the right direction. I thank you and your families for welcoming me into your homes for home-made dinners, accompanying me to various events and charities, and never giving up hope on me when the storms came rushing in. You guys made me look good, and I can only hope I did a good job. Thank you so much.
My mom Sunny and my sister Janet. I love you two very dearly. The both of you raised me and I continue to learn from you both. Mom, you are the best. You’ve provided me with countless opportunities and ideals for how to live in this world. Because of you, I believe that hard work pays off in the end. You have proved to the both of us over and over again, that you are indeed the best person we’ve ever met. Yes, we’ve made our decision, and it is final. =) My sister, you are my biggest supporter since day one. I plan to show you my appreciation over our lifetimes. Thank you.
Lastly, but never least, I thank the Good Father. He who has made me has never left me. He who bears the name above all names, my King. In the name of Jesus, I ask that you might bless those who are lost, hurt, searching, and hungry. Bless them more than me, my merciful God. Better a thousand men blessed by Your love than me alone. For I have been lost, hurt, searching, and hungry, yet You found me, healed me, sent me counsel, and fed me so I will never go hungry again. Amen.
Life is just beginning. I am young and I am strong. To all those who read this, may we all go forth without fear. Do good, and I will do good, too. Collectively, I believe we can move mountains.
In closing, I want to make an invitation, of the techy-internet type, and ask you to connect with me on Facebook. The URL is www.facebook.com/underdogaffairs. I wish to have a social avenue of correspondence to re-connect and be informed of your lives. Plus, how else will I be able to let you all know what my next venture will be. =)
Thank you, good luck, and good night!!
